1.Laparoscopic

The simulation laparoscopic center is equipped with a basic laparoscopic training simulator, a virtual simulation laparoscopic surgery simulation training system, a laparoscopic ex vivo animal organ training model, a virtual uroendoscopic simulator and a cystoscopic surgery operation simulator, etc., with a total equipment price of about 8 million yuan. The 20 basic "laparoscopic boxes", also known as laparoscopic surgery skills training system, can operate 9 basic training modules, which can meet the training of hand-eye coordination, clamping, transfer, separation, cutting, suturing and other basic skills of laparoscopic. The laparoscopic simulation surgery trainer adopts a virtual simulation system, which is a set of virtual surgical training equipment specially designed to train a variety of surgical procedures under laparoscopy, and the simulator instrument operation handle is consistent with the real surgical instruments, with a high color reproduction display system and force feedback operation platform, that can also be used with immersive VR panoramic equipment and remote surgical control terminal. The laparoscopic ex vivo animal organ trainer uses ex vivo animal organs to simulate clinical teaching effects more realistically. Laparoscopic technology is widely used in various clinical specialties, including general surgery, breast surgery, thyroid surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, urology, obstetrics and gynecology on laparoscopic skills training and practice. The simulation laparoscopic center has held many laparoscopic specialist skills training courses, laparoscopic skills competitions, and participated in the National Medical Examination Center simulation virtual technology in the expert laparoscopy special technical practical skills examination in 2019-2020 in the empirical research project.

Uroendoscopy, percutaneous puncture simulation training system and prostate electroresection surgery simulation training system together, can be used to train uroendoscopy, surgery, percutaneous access renal puncture, transurethral prostatectomy and other surgical operations. Through the use of this product, trainers can understand the anatomy of the urinary system, identify anatomical landmarks, familiar with transurethral insertion of cystoscope, ureteroscopy, guide the guidewire to the renal pelvis and other operations, in addition to simulating urinary tract stones. From 2018 to 2020, we led the empirical research project of the National Medical Examination Center on the simulation of virtual technology in the practical skills examination of specialist uroendoscopic technology.

2.Microsurgery

The microsurgical training center is equipped with a number of Zeiss surgical microscopes, Hotry training microscopes, Endoscopic systems and Control Systems. The total value of equipment is more than 2 million yuan. So far, the microsurgical training center has successfully held the Clinical practice ability assessment for the completion of standardized training for residents (Ophthalmology), the third National Neurosurgery resident Training knowledge and skills Competition, the "Zhujiang Cup" clinical ability (microsurgery) Competition for young doctors, the microvascular anastomosis training courses, the microsurgical skills training class on andrology and other professional surgical skills training, competition and assessmenton the neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology and plastic surgery   

The microsurgery training center, in collaboration with clinical teachers of our hospital, has created a series of courses to guarantee gradual, safe and standardized simulation training. Students can use basic training models, some removed organs and mice to simulation operation, combined with the microscope, Endoscopic systems and Control Systems and intracranial hemorrhage models to simulate intracranial hemorrhage operation and Skull Base Tumor Resection. We also combine Screen projection function with professional teacher guidance. It can rapidly improve the microsurgeons skill and achieve the transition from low-level to high-level.

The microsurgery Training center provides a safe and undistracted practice space where doctors can get full exercise, making the 10,000-hour training rule possible.

3.Endoscope

The endoscopy training center is equipped with high-definition electronic gastroenteroscopes, high-definition electronic bronchoscopes, virtual endoscope simulators, medical endoscope cleaning, disinfection equipment, a variety of 3D printed digestive tract and bronchial intervention training models, with the total cost of all those is about 6 million yuan. The endoscopy training center can provide a standardized and professional gastroscopy and bronchoscopy training platform for residents and specialists at all levels.

Endoscopic technology has become a commonly used key clinical diagnosis and treatment technology due to its advantages of non-invasion, safety, high-efficiency and convenience. With the advancement of the new medical reform, medical units at all levels have carried out endoscopic diagnosis and treatment projects, and the demand for endoscopic technology is increasing.

As the leading medical simulation training base in China, the clinical skill center of Zhujiang Hospital cooperated closely with the clinical departments, participated in the bronchoscopy and gastroenteroscopy simulation virtual technology empirical research of National Medical Examination Center in 2019, which laid a scientific evidence-based foundation for the development and assessment of the technical simulation training curriculum system of our hospital. In 2020, it undertook the examiner training course of the project "Bronchoscopy Technology Simulation Training and Assessment Empirical Research" of the National Medical Examination Center, which as a key part of "Bronchoscopy Technology Project" of National Medical Examination Center, has accumulated abundant organizational experience for the future bronchoscopy technology training and ability evaluation system construction.

With the continuous upgrading of the endoscopy training center, we have successively held the hospital gastroscopy specialist skills competition and bronchoscopy specialist skills competition from 2020 to 2022, which laid a foundation for the establishment of simulation training courses of bronchoscopy technology. Finally, the simulation training course of bronchoscopy technology for residents was successfully carried out in 2022,which further help our hospital residents to improve the quality of standardized training.

4.Ultrasound

The Ultrasound Training Center is equipped with a variety of visual examination/puncture models with realistic ultrasound acoustic properties, covering disciplines of Internal Medicine, Surgery Obstetrics and Pediatricsincluding ultrasound-guided puncture biopsy training model for thyroid tumor, breast masses, placental villus and so on. Furthermore, the new material has the characteries of healing automatically.

Taking the visualize cardiac examination model for example, it would support transesophageal cardiac ultrasonography (TEE) and transthoracic ultrasonography (TTE), simulating different degrees of pericardial effusion for training pericardiocentesis. Focused assessment with sonography for trauma(FAST) model is a full-function model equipped with several cases of visceral hemorrhage by trauma. It also would meet the need such as the ultrasound-guided pericardial/abdominal puncture, central venous puncture catheterization and other related clinical operations. At the same time, visual ultrasound teaching with high-simulation model with integrated recording system can contribute to a series of multidisciplinary specialized training courses like ultrasound-guided prenatal diagnosis and tumor intervention and ablation.

5.Simulation Training of Interventional Technology


This training platform can conduct simulation training for various vascular intervention specialized technologies and plays a significant role in exercises simulating chest pain and stroke scenarios. A number of training courses on cardio cerebral vascular intervention have been developed by Zhujiang Simulation Center in conjunction with clinicians. These courses use small classes (16–20 students) to enhance learning, primarily by clinical observation, simulation training, and theoretical instruction. We created a simulation assessment scale and recorded the teaching video of the simulation training through the continuous collection of feedback and improvement so that every participant who comes to learn can benefit as much as possible.

At this time, successful training sessions for intracranial aneurysm interventions, coronary bifurcation disease interventions, and 14 sessions of intracranial aneurysm intervention training course, 1 session of coronary bifurcation disease intervention training course and 2 sessions of atrial fibrillation intervention training course have been conducted, respectively. Doctors from over 100 local hospitals within province have received training, and these courses received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
