Not only did the teachers returning from the visit have a more in-depth understanding of the development of medical simulation education in France, but also had more ideas and insights into the implementation of medical simulation teaching and training. The School of Medicine of the University of Descartes, the largest medical college in France, is famous in Europe for its highest level of medical education and research. It ranks among the top in the world in many disciplines. Professor Antoine Tesniere, founder and director of the iLumens Simulation Teaching and training Center, is the former chairman of the European Medical Simulation Association and now serves as associate dean of the School of Medical Education of Descartes University School of Medicine.
9.From September to November 2018, I am an exchange visitor of WISER (The Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation Education and Research) center in the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC,University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), study the organization structure of WISE Center, operations management, Informatization management, simulation-based medical education instructor courses, etc. The learning objective is how to promote the learning of simulation courses and evaluate effects of the students through different teaching methods and evaluation methods. At the same time, I have a more profound understanding that no matter where or when, as a qualified medical simulation education instructor, I should keep full teaching enthusiasm in class, set clear training objectives according to the objects, prepare systematic training materials, establish perfect training evaluation methods, and update my teaching methods and methods timely according to the feedback, which are my lifelong pursuit and orientation of all efforts.
10.Director Tian Jing sent the center's teacher, Dandan Qian, to the University of Miami Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education for 3 months to learn systematically the basic and core curriculum of simulation-based medicine, including how to develop a simulation-based curriculum that emphasizes self-learning and lifelong learning, how to apply effectively teaching and assessment through simulation, how to enhance and complement traditional teaching through technology in simulation, how to use information-based teaching and learning in simulation medicine and how to design and implement research on cognitive knowledge, clinical skills, and professional attitudes by best evidence in medical education. Founded in 1967, University of Miami Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education is the world's foremost pioneer and leader in the research and practice of simulation-based medical education. Gordon Center has developed simulation-based medical education curricula for all specialties in the past 50 years. Accepted at more than 2,000 medical universities, medical centers, and emergency facilities worldwide, those curricula have been training millions of medical professionals of all types. Professor Barry Issenberg, MD, the present director of Gordon Center for Research in Medical Education is a leading researcher in simulation medical education.
